こないだ Masterpiece Ultimate Disco Funk でズキューン！された Rose Royce は、全然マイナーじゃなかったらしく、知らなくてごめんなさいなんですけど、たしかに Car Wash は聴いたことがあるし、しっかり検索すれば（手持ちの）他のコンピにも収録されているかもしれないです。
Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1982 album from the Soul/R&B outfit. Stronger Than Ever proves that Rose Royce were certainly plenty strong at this point in their career, working with a tight modern Soul groove on Epic Records, away from their previous placement on the Whitfield label, even though Norman Whitfield’s still very actively handling production here. As well as being a hit in the R&B charts the single ‘Best Love’ made the Top 20 in the Netherlands with the album making the top 30. ‘Still In Love’ is also a long standing hit with UK Soul fans.
あれこれと聴いてみたところ、私のはこの Stronger Than Ever っていうアルバムが一番好き。 もちろんアレです、ベスト聴くべきだとは思います。 けど、なにせこのアルバム、ズキューンされた Best Love が収録されてまして、実際他の曲もいいんですよね。 この大人数バンドはプロデュースが Norman Whitfield なんだそうで、いい仕事しやがるよなぁーもー。
この曲、Bah Samba あたりが影響を受けてそう。 なんともまぁゴージャスな（サルソウルっぽい）サウンドに、このパンチの効いたボーカルがタマランチ会長なんだよねぇ。
