Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld: Patterns & Textures Version
アンビエントテクノの雄The Orbの1st「Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld」は本当に名盤だと思います。 今日知ったのですが、名曲「Little Fluffy Clouds」はJah Wobbleさんが参加してらっしゃったんですね。 ってぇことはあのベースがそうなの？ そうか、気になってたんだよなぁ．．．という余計な事はさておくも。
このPatterns & Textures Versionは、CD単体で売られた事が無い筈です。 The Orbの公式サイト、アーカイブの「ビデオ」のページにあります通り、VHSビデオのオマケCDであり、ビデオ音源そのものであります。
this video of the orb is an adventure of textures and patterns in a visual form the orb begin their jounrey with little fluffy clouds and eart (gaia) in orbit, and from there follow the ascent to the towers of dub to experience the perpetual dawn. meanwhile star 6 & 789 slowly disappears onto the horizon bringing them to the final leg of their adventure. the orb find themselves at the outlands near the edge of the gig, only to discover they cannot find the missing brain which has been 'nicked' by aardvark...
ビデオの内容はアンビエントではなくてかなりドラッギーであり、ヘロヘロの時に観ると相当にキます。 CGを使った映像処理等、12年も前ですのでそれなりですが、そういう事を抜きにしてもThe Orbらしい映像でありまして、DVD化が望まれます．．．ような気がします。 余談ですが1998年には「U.F. OFF VIDEO」というものが発売されていたんですね。 知りませんでした。
CDはビデオの音源そのままですのでどうと言う事はなさげですが、とんでもない。 「コッケコッコー！」で始まらない「Little Fluffy Clouds」で始まります、これ。 それを聴くだけでも十分位であります。 また、曲間無く一気に７曲です。 全１曲ですので、iTunesで掛かると終わらない終わらない（笑）。
私は1stまでのThe Orbが好きなんですけども、特に好きなのがこのPatterns & Textures Version。 初期はブートもなかなかで、何枚か持っておりますけれども全部好きだったりします。
